Back Scratcher Overview

Our signature back scratchers are handmade wood products. We are very picky so we inspect each and every one and if they are not completely perfect we designate them as "factory seconds" and put them in this category. These are still great back scratchers but they may have a nicked stave, a wood knot in the handle, irregular grain, some minor blemish in the finish, etc. These are still beautiful, fully functional back scratchers and you may not even be able to see the problem but you get a great deal on a great back scratcher.

Important Notes: Quantities of specific handle woods are always limited so we let you select up to three preferences in the shopping cart; if we can't fulfill your order with one of those you indicate we'll let you know before we ship your order. If you don't indicate a preference we'll pick one for you. These factory seconds are all sold cosmetically "As Is" and are not returnable.

Features of these hardwood back scratchers include:

• All Hardwood Construction - the back scratcher handles are formed from hardwoods and the scratcher stave itself is a single piece of natural red oak*. Based upon availability you can choose your preference from six standard hardwood handles: Walnut, Cedar, Aromatic Cedar, Cherry, Oak and Maple.

• Hand Built - the back scratcher's 1.2" wide red oak stave is bent using steam pressure then the end is carved to form the scratcher edge. Then the walnut handles are glued on (the total handle thickness through the stave and both handle halves is 0.75"), the blank is routed, finish sanded and drilled with a 0.5" hole for easy hanging.  Finally, the entire back scratcher is finished with a protective coat of clear lacquer.

• Universal Design - the back scratcher's generous 21.5" length and 1.2" scratcher edge makes it possible for users of all sizes or for those with elbow or shoulder motion difficulties to conveniently reach and scratch anywhere it itches. The combination of length and the wide scratcher edge make this a very aggressive back scratcher and it can scratch on bare skin or through a shirt or blouse with ease.

• Includes Leather Thong - Every hardwood back scratcher includes a natural leather thong for easy hanging.

• 100% American Made - all parts used in the construction these back scratchers are made from American hardwood and all back scratchers are 100% made in America.
