We matched up our signature back scratcher design with a handle made from the wood used in our wildly successful exotic Thai Rosewood back scratcher (52-700) to come up with this beauty. Our signature hardwood back scratchers combine form and function in an elegant design that is both highly effective and uniquely beautiful. Here, the contrast between the beautifully grained red oak stave and the Thai Payung rosewood handle is striking. Sometimes called "flamewood", we import this dense hardwood from the rain forests of Thailand; it is highly prized for its exotic swirling colors and perfect for high quality back scratchers.

Always in short supply, these back scratchers are individually serialized with their unit number and batch size like the collector's items they truly are. While they may look too pretty to use, don't worry - they scratch with the same effectiveness as other members of the family! Around Christmas some batches only last a few days so if you want the best, order early because when we're out, we're out and we don't always know when the next batch of rosewood stock will be available.
  

Features of this premium rosewood handled hardwood back scratcher include:

• All Hardwood Construction - this back scratcher's handle is formed from natural Thai Payung rosewood. The one piece scratcher stave is a single piece of natural red oak*.

• Hand Built - the back scratcher's 1.2" wide red oak stave is bent using steam pressure then the end is carved to form the scratcher edge.   Then the rosewood handles are glued on (the total handle thickness through the stave and both handle halves is 0.75"), the blank is routed, finish sanded and drilled with a 0.5" hole for easy hanging.  Finally, the entire back scratcher is finished with a protective coat of clear lacquer.

• Universal Design - the back scratcher's generous 21.5" length and 1.2" scratcher edge makes it possible for users of all sizes or for those with elbow or shoulder motion difficulties to conveniently reach and scratch anywhere it itches. The combination of length and the wide scratcher edge make this a very aggressive back scratcher and it can scratch on bare skin or through a shirt or blouse with ease.

• Includes Leather Thong - This hardwood back scratcher includes a natural leather thong for easy hanging.

• Includes Signed Certificate of Authenticity - these back scratchers are hand made in limited numbers in small batches. Each back scratcher from each batch is serialized and includes a signed certificate of authenticity indicating its number, production date and the size of the batch.
