This large collection of toy building blocks is perfect for building elaborate block structures or to allow more than one child to share in the fun of playing with wood blocks. These wood building blocks are a uniquely green product! The blocks are handmade from recycled wood materials salvaged from local wood mills and cabinet shops here in the Pacific Northwest. Wood types used for these block sets include alder, maple, oak, cherry, beech and other wood species. The most commonly used wood type is alder, a common but beautiful deciduous hardwood cousin of birch that is harvested in quantity in North America using sustainable forestry. Each block is sawn from wood scraps and individually hand sanded on all surfaces, corners and edges to make sure that they are free from splinters and jagged edges. Absolutely NO PAINT, NO STAIN, NO VARNISH, NO LACQUER or any other sort of finish are used on these toy building blocks. The combination of unfinished natural wood and smooth finish makes them safe for children of all ages.

The different size ratios of these blocks have been specifically designed to make them very easy to stack and build towers, houses, castles, bridges, or whatever your child can imagine. These blocks are not only fun for your child, but they are also educational. The basic geometric shapes of the blocks will stimulate the minds of young children helping to teach them to discover, imagine, problem solve and create their own world! If you want to have your blocks finished, we suggest you consider a completely organic beeswax and olive oil paste which you and your children can rub onto the blocks to seal and finish them.
