Q. Why should I buy a BackScratcherWorld.com back
scratcher?
A. We believe (and there are thousands of happy customers to
support this belief) that the back scratchers available at BackScratcherWorld.com are
among the best back scratchers available anywhere. They are not the cheapest - our
signature hardwood models are 100% American hand built and of the highest quality; our
telescopic back scratchers are built offshore to our specifications. If you just
want a piece of nondescript plastic or bamboo junk, these are not your back
scratchers. If you want a high quality personal grooming tool that will last for

Q. How do BackScratcherWorld.com back scratchers compare to
other back scratchers?
A. The unique design of our signature hardwood back scratchers
combines a single piece red oak stave with your choice of contrasting hardwood
handles (walnut, cedar, aromatic cedar, cherry, oak and maple). This design makes them very
efficient back scratchers. They are 100% American made, completely hand crafted and hand
finished. Every back scratcher's combination of beautiful wood grains and natural
hardwood colors makes it completely unique.
Our telescopic back scratchers come in one of the largest selections available and all
of them are manufactured offshore to our specifications. We also have a collection
of other back care products which we have selected to further enhance your back care.

Q. How are BackScratcherWorld.com hardwood back scratchers
made?
A. Each of our signature hardwood back scratchers is hand cut,
hand assembled and hand finished. The process takes numerous steps including steam
pressure bending of the stave and several different cutting, routing and finishing steps.
The process takes time and uses only the finest materials. All material
and labor are 100% American made. Because they are hand made, there is some
variation piece to piece, making each back scratcher a completely unique collector's item.
Our telescopic back scratchers are manufactured offshore to our specifications and
quality standards. They use high quality woods and metal parts to make a unique telescopic
back scratcher.
Our other products are selected from manufacturers for quality and durability.

Q. What woods are used for BackScratcherWorld.com hardwood
back scratchers?
A. The original hardwood back scratcher design is based on a red
oak stave with walnut handles. Red oak is critical to the entire design because it
can be steam bent under pressure.

Over time, handle selections have been increased to six including the original walnut
plus cedar, aromatic cedar, cherry, oak and maple.

The wooden handles of our various hardwood handled telescopic back scratchers are a
variety of close grained oak with a light mahogany stain.

Q. How are BackScratcherWorld.com hardwood back scratchers
finished?
A. All of our signature hardwood back scratchers are made from
natural, unstained hardwoods. After assembly, drilling and final surface preparation each
back scratcher is finished with two coats of clear lacquer. Because the are

scratcher unique.

The wooden handles of our hardwood handled telescopic back scratchers are a variety of

Q. What is a Cast Scratcher?
A. Originally developed at the request of a orthopedics doctor, the
cast scratcher was designed to allow people with casts on to get down under and relieve
the itch. Save lots of pencils and wooden spoons!

Cast scratcher construction is similar to that of the back scratchers. They are,
however, 30% narrower, have a thinner handle and the majority of the scratcher edge is
removed to allow easy access into tight areas.
Our telescopic back scratchers can also do a good job as a cast scratcher.

Q. Is it "Back Scratcher" or
"Backscratcher"?
A. Hmmmmmmm. Good question. We try to use "Back
Scratcher" because a) it seems like it should be consistent with "Cast
Scratcher" which definitely seems to be two words and b) our official Scrabble®
dictionary did not allow "Backscratcher" as a valid word. And who are we
to argue with Merriam-Webster?? Two other more obscure names are
"scratch-back" and "magonote", the later being used primarily in
Japan.
